For many years QuickBooks has been the main competitor to Sage in the UK; however the US has the largest number of QuickBooks users.

Sage offers a whole suite of online software that can help accounting professionals grow their business. Giving the flexibility and freedom to focus on providing value-added services, Sage have a range of resources to ensure data on payroll, accounts and cash flow is accurate and up to date. Xero is beautiful, easy ­to ­use online accounting software for small businesses and their advisors. The company has over 133,000 subscribers in the UK and over 717,000 globally in over 180 countries. Xero seamlessly integrates with over 500 third­-party tools, and was ranked No. 1 by Forbes as the World’s Most Innovative Growth Company in 2014 and 2015.
